About Me

Hi, I’m Don Kight—a Florida-based visual artist and creative professional. My current work is what I call Prehistoric Pop Art: a bold, vibrant fusion of ancient symbols, street art energy, and childlike imagination, often painted on heavily textured surfaces. It pulls from early pictographs, modern expressionism, comic books, and cave art to create something raw, joyful, and mythic.

Alongside my studio practice, I host Paint Nite events that make art fun, social, and accessible for everyone. I’m also an active member of the Gathering Artists of Putnam, a collective that’s working to spark creativity and community in Palatka and the surrounding areas. You can often find me exhibiting at The Bart on Aviles, an inspiring art and music hub in St. Augustine.

Whether I’m painting, teaching, or collaborating, my goal is to bring more color, connection, and meaning into the world—one brushstroke at a time.

Recent Works

Prehistoric Pop Art Series
My recent works explore a vibrant fusion of ancient symbolism and contemporary flair. Drawing inspiration from cave paintings, petroglyphs, childhood drawings, and bold pop culture aesthetics, each piece channels a raw, expressive energy. Painted on richly textured surfaces, these works feel both primal and playful—like artifacts from an alternate timeline where early humans invented comic books. This series invites viewers to tap into their own mythic imagination and rediscover the power of mark-making as a sacred, joyful act.

Paint Nite

Paint Nite Events
Paint Nite is a lively, hands-on art party where everyone’s invited to get creative. I lead the group step by step, but there’s plenty of room to play, laugh, and make it your own. No experience needed—just bring your friends, grab a drink, and let the good vibes flow. You’ll leave with a finished painting and a great story to tell.
